The China International Supply Chain Expo

Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized on multiple international occasions strengthening global cooperation on industrial and supply chains to promote world economic recovery.

To implement this important initiative, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will host the first China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing from November 28 to December 2, 2023.

1. Why host CISCE

President Xi Jinping, on such occasions as the G20 Summit, APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, BRICS Summit, and in his meeting with heads of state or governments, has reiterated China’s principled position of safeguarding the stability of global industrial and supply chains, demonstrating a firm resolve to support economic globalization and build an open world economy. CISCE represents a solid step in implementing this very initiative.

The world is undergoing major changes unseen in a century. Economic globalization is facing counter-currents. The global economy is yet to fully recover from the aftermath of Covid-19. As the global industrial and supply chains are being reconstructed at a faster pace, countries are placing greater priority on the stability of industrial and supply chains.

The industrial and supply chains connect economies and link up the global flows of capital, industries, and technologies. Building a stable, secure, and smooth global industrial and supply chain system represents the common aspiration of global businesses and the shared responsibility of the international community.

To host an expo with the theme of global supply chains is groundbreaking. As a testimony to China’s sincerity and readiness to greater opening up and its responsibility as a major country, CISCE will provide countries with new opportunities to expand economic and trade cooperation with China and a new platform to trade and share business opportunities with one another. It will also promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, advance orderly and efficient industrial synergy across countries, and drive forward global economic recovery and growth as well as economic globalization.

2. What is CISCE

The theme of first CISCE is Connecting the World for a Shared Future. Different than traditional expos, it is an open international platform which integrates the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors, connects small, medium, and large enterprises and promotes collaboration between industry, academia, research, and facilitates interactions between Chinese and foreign enterprises. It is also an international public product China offers to the world.

In the spirit of Joint Contribution, Extensive Promotion, and Shared Benefits, the first CISCE features five supply chains, i.e. Smart Vehicle, Green Agriculture, Clean Energy, Digital Technology, and Healthy Life, as well as a Supply Chain Service Exhibition Area. The aim is to provide a new, high-end platform for enterprises to expand trade and investment cooperation, pool together innovation, and learn from each other.

Leading players of the above 5 chains will be invited to showcase their latest achievements in scientific research, technology, equipment, applications, etc., as well as development trends.

CISCE will adopt scenario-based and immersive presentation to give visitors an interactive experience, with highlights on green and low-carbon development, environment protection, and digital transformation.

CISCE is not only open to professional audience but also to the general public, especially scientific research institutions and universities. It is a platform not only for trade and investment cooperation but also for brand publicity.

The planned exhibition space of the first CISCE is over 100,000 square meters. Side events will include a Global Supply Chain Innovation and Development Summit and 5 forums focusing on the five major chains. Representatives from relevant international organizations, Chinese government departments, industry organizations, and renowned enterprises will be invited to share their insights on strengthening international cooperation in industrial and supply chains and promoting global economic recovery.

3. Who to Participate in CISCE

Enterprises from all countries are cordially welcomed to participate in the first CISCE. Exhibitors and buyers from home and abroad will be provided with quality services and whole- process support. Supply and demand information will be released online and offline to facilitate precise matchmaking. Over 100,000 buyers and visitors are expected for the first CISCE.

We stand ready to work together with all countries and international organizations to make CISCE a world-class expo, in an effort to maintain the stable and unimpeded function of the global industrial and supply chains and to inject new momentum into economic and trade cooperation and innovation-driven development
